# AI notetaker for meetings in German, with the notes written in German

> TrackHeros is an AI notetaker that recognises a Google Meet or Microsoft Teams meeting held in German without being told, transcribes it from the recording, and writes the summary, decisions, action items and minutes in German or in English — for freelancers and consultants working with clients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

**In short:** TrackHeros detects a Google Meet or Microsoft Teams meeting held in German on its own, including one that switches between German and English mid-sentence, and transcribes it from the recording. The summary, decisions, action items and minutes can be written in German, under the heading "Besprechungsprotokoll"; the transcript itself is rendered into English line by line.

| Fact | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Spoken German | Detected per meeting; nothing to set |
| Notes in German | Summary, decisions, action items and minutes — per account, client, recurring meeting or single meeting |
| Minutes heading | Besprechungsprotokoll |
| Export headings | Zusammenfassung · Entscheidungen · Aufgaben · Verantwortlich · Fällig |
| Date in exports | Mittwoch, 21. Oktober 2026 |
| Transcript | Rendered into English line by line; the German original is kept, not shown |
| Free plan | Notes in English; Pro and above write them in German |

TrackHeros is an AI meeting notetaker that connects every Google and Microsoft calendar you hold, recognises close to 100 spoken languages on its own, writes the notes in nine of them, and keeps every client's notes in a sealed workspace of its own. German is one of the nine. This page is for anyone who runs client meetings in German — with a Mittelstand client in Stuttgart, a start-up in Berlin, an agency in Vienna or a team in Zurich — and for anyone whose German calls are half English by the time they reach the technical part.

## Does TrackHeros work for meetings held in German?

Yes. A Google Meet or Microsoft Teams meeting held in German is recognised as German and transcribed from the recording. Nothing has to be set first: the language is worked out from each meeting, so a German call and an English one under the same client are each handled as what they are.

The captions a meeting platform shows during the call are decoded as English, so they are not what a German meeting's notes are written from. A short sample of the audio names the languages actually spoken, and any meeting that is not in English alone gets a full pass over the recording. [How automatic language detection works](/features/automatic-language-detection/) covers each step.

## Can the meeting notes be written in German?

Yes. German is one of the nine notes languages. Set it for your whole account, for one client, for a recurring meeting or for a single call; the most specific setting wins, and the meeting page says which one decided. "Same as the meeting" gives a call held mostly in German its notes in German. A meeting that has already been summarised can have its notes rewritten in German afterwards.

That matters most where the record is formal. Many German clients expect a Protokoll after a meeting — who attended, what was decided, who does what by when — and expect it in German. The notes are written in German from the English transcript; they summarise the meeting rather than quote it.

## What do the exported minutes look like in German?

The headings and the date are German as well. The PDF, the Google Doc, the Notion page and "Copy for email" use:

| In English | In German |
| ------------------ | --------------------- |
| Minutes of Meeting | Besprechungsprotokoll |
| Attendees | Teilnehmende |
| Summary | Zusammenfassung |
| Decisions | Entscheidungen |
| Action items | Aufgaben |
| Owner | Verantwortlich |
| Due | Fällig |

The attendee list is headed Teilnehmende rather than Teilnehmer, the form that does not assume everyone in the room is a man. A date is written Mittwoch, 21. Oktober 2026, with the full stop after the day that German dates carry. What the minutes contain, section by section, is on the [meeting minutes](/features/meeting-minutes/) page.

## What about a meeting that mixes German and English?

It is handled in the same pass. German technical speech borrows English freely and then conjugates it in German — "wir müssen den Branch noch mergen, bevor wir deployen" — and whole sentences switch to English when a non-German colleague joins. Captions decoded in one language force the other language's words into their own, and a borrowed English verb with a German ending is exactly the word they get wrong. The pass over the recording reads the switch where it happens, and the transcript renders the whole line into English. [What happens when a meeting switches language mid-sentence](/blog/meeting-switches-language-mid-sentence/) walks through it.

A meeting that mixes German with another language and no English — German and French on a call in Basel, say — gets the same pass, but it is not a combination TrackHeros has tested, so no claim is made about it.

## Is the transcript in German?

No. The transcript is rendered into English line by line, and the transcript page says so in one line: "Translated to English from a conversation held in German". The German original is stored with each line, but the app does not show it. If you want German on the page, the notes are where it appears.

## Do I need to tell TrackHeros a meeting is in German?

No. Listing the languages a client speaks is optional. If you do list them, list all of them: a language left off the list is treated as less likely, which matters for a client listed as English alone whose team falls back into German when the discussion gets detailed.

## What happens with a recurring meeting held in German?

A recurring series remembers its language. A series held in German gets the full pass over the recording every time; only a series heard in English alone may use the platform captions. A weekly German Jour fixe is therefore never summarised from captions that were decoded as English, and its notes come out in the language the series, the client or the account is set to.

## Frequently asked

**Can TrackHeros write a Besprechungsprotokoll in German?**

Yes. Choose German as the notes language for your account, one client, a recurring meeting or a single call, and the summary, decisions, action items and formal minutes are written in German. PDF, Google Doc and Notion exports carry German headings, starting with Besprechungsprotokoll, and German dates.

**Does TrackHeros handle German sentences full of English terms?**

Yes. A German sentence with English nouns and verbs inside it is read by a second pass over the recording, which hears both languages, and the transcript renders the whole line into English. The notes are then written in whichever language you chose.

**Is the transcript of a German meeting in German?**

No. The transcript is rendered into English line by line, and the transcript page says the conversation was held in German. The German original is kept with each line but is not shown in the app.

**Do I need to tell TrackHeros the meeting is in German?**

No. Each meeting's language is worked out from the meeting itself. Listing German among the languages a client speaks is optional; if you list languages for a client, list all of them.
