**In short:** TrackHeros detects a Google Meet or Microsoft Teams meeting held in Portuguese on its own, including one that switches between Portuguese and English mid-sentence, and transcribes it from the recording. The summary, decisions, action items and minutes can be written in Portuguese, under the heading "Ata de reunião"; the transcript itself is rendered into English line by line.

TrackHeros is an AI meeting notetaker that connects every Google and Microsoft calendar you hold, recognises close to 100 spoken languages on its own, writes the notes in nine of them, and keeps every client's notes in a sealed workspace of its own. Portuguese is one of the nine. This page is for anyone who meets clients, candidates or teams in Portuguese — in São Paulo, Lisbon, Porto, Luanda or Maputo — or who runs calls that move between Portuguese and English.

## Does TrackHeros work for meetings held in Portuguese?

Yes. A Google Meet or Microsoft Teams meeting held in Portuguese is recognised as Portuguese and transcribed from the recording. Nothing has to be set first: each meeting's language is worked out from the meeting itself, so a Portuguese call and an English one under the same client are each handled as what they are.

The captions a meeting platform shows during the call are decoded as English, so they are not what a Portuguese meeting's notes are written from. A short sample of the audio names the languages actually spoken, and any meeting that is not in English alone gets a full pass over the recording. [How automatic language detection works](/features/automatic-language-detection/) covers each step.

## Can the meeting notes be written in Portuguese?

Yes. Portuguese is one of the nine notes languages. Set it for your account, for one client, for a recurring meeting or for a single call; the most specific setting wins, and the meeting page says which one decided. "Same as the meeting" gives a call held mostly in Portuguese its notes in Portuguese. A meeting that has already been summarised can be rewritten in Portuguese afterwards.

There is one Portuguese setting, not one for Brazil and one for Portugal, and TrackHeros makes no claim about writing one variety rather than the other. The notes are written in Portuguese from the English transcript; they summarise the meeting rather than quote it.

## What do the exported minutes look like in Portuguese?

The headings and the date are Portuguese as well. The PDF, the Google Doc, the Notion page and "Copy for email" use:

| In English | In Portuguese |
| ------------------ | -------------- |
| Minutes of Meeting | Ata de reunião |
| Summary | Resumo |
| Decisions | Decisões |
| Action items | Ações |
| Owner | Responsável |
| Due | Prazo |

A date is written quarta-feira, 21 de outubro de 2026 — the weekday by its number, in lower case, and "de" before the month and the year. "Ata" is the word a Portuguese-speaking client expects on the formal record of a meeting. What the minutes contain, section by section, is on the [meeting minutes](/features/meeting-minutes/) page.

## What about a meeting that mixes Portuguese and English?

It is handled in the same pass. Tech and product teams that work in Portuguese keep much of their vocabulary in English — "a gente faz o deploy na sexta, but only if QA signs off" — and a call with a foreign stakeholder switches language for whole stretches. Captions decoded in one language force the other language's words into their own. The pass over the recording reads the switch where it happens, and the transcript renders the whole line into English. For calls where nobody shares a first language, see [meetings without a shared first language](/blog/meetings-without-a-shared-first-language/).

A meeting that mixes Portuguese with another language and no English — Portuguese and Spanish on a call across the Brazil–Uruguay border, say — gets the same pass, but it is not a combination TrackHeros has tested, so no claim is made about it.

## Is the transcript in Portuguese?

No. The transcript is rendered into English line by line, and the transcript page says so in one line: "Translated to English from a conversation held in Portuguese". The Portuguese original is stored with each line, but the app does not show it. If you want Portuguese on the page, the notes are where it appears.

## Do I need to tell TrackHeros a meeting is in Portuguese?

No. Listing the languages a client speaks is optional. If you do list them, list all of them: a language left off the list is treated as less likely.

## What happens with a recurring meeting held in Portuguese?

A recurring series remembers its language. A series held in Portuguese gets the full pass over the recording every time; only a series heard in English alone may use the platform captions. A weekly Portuguese planning call is therefore never summarised from captions decoded as English, and its notes come out in the language the series, the client or the account is set to.

## Frequently asked

**Can TrackHeros write an ata de reunião in Portuguese?**

Yes. Choose Portuguese as the notes language for your account, one client, a recurring meeting or a single call, and the summary, decisions, action items and formal minutes are written in Portuguese. PDF, Google Doc and Notion exports carry Portuguese headings, starting with Ata de reunião, and Portuguese dates.

**Does TrackHeros handle a meeting that switches between Portuguese and English?**

Yes. A sentence that moves between Portuguese and English is read by a second pass over the recording, which hears both languages, and the transcript renders the whole line into English. The notes are then written in whichever language you chose.

**Does TrackHeros write Brazilian or European Portuguese?**

The notes language is Portuguese; there is no separate setting for Brazil or Portugal, and TrackHeros makes no claim about writing one variety rather than the other. The export headings and dates are the same for both.

**Is the transcript of a Portuguese meeting in Portuguese?**

No. The transcript is rendered into English line by line, and the transcript page says the conversation was held in Portuguese. The Portuguese original is kept with each line but is not shown in the app.
